Outdoor Family & Maternity Photo Session in Red Wing, MN
The Clark family and I met between the periods of rain to skip through a grassy field, snuggle on a blanket, and play under moody skies. These evenings of possible rain, skirting the edge of a storm, make for some of my very favorite conditions. I’m not sure I could choose between a beautiful sunny evening or a gloomy moody one. It’s a toss up!
When planning this session, I wanted to really show off bold colors through clothing and location. The vibrant grass, surrounded by the deep green of the bluffs made for the perfect backdrop for the bold and vibrant clothing I picked out for their session. Styling sessions is one of my favorite parts of a session. I love seeing it all come together to make the perfect blend of color, neutrals, texture, and patterns. Every piece of their clothing was intentional, from the little girl’s knee-high socks to the button details on mama’s dress. I love offering this service to my clients. Finding clothing is one of the most stressful parts of a photo session, so I love being able to take that stress off my clients!
This family was SO much fun. When they showed up I told them to just love on each other and play, and they did just that! That’s all you need to do - be yourselves and enjoy each other!
With mama expecting baby #3, I wanted to not only get some solo shots of her belly, but also highlight the details of raising children while pregnant. The little one sitting on the bump, big brother snuggled up against it, those details are every day life, so important and so real.
These two kiddos were so stinkin’ cute. Her ringlet curls, the dimples… I’m not sure how many times I said they were cute, but it was lot. Put the two of them together and I just can’t handle it!
This family session made me so happy. What a beautiful, loving, happy family.
